Climate Survey

Managing Corporate Performance through Climate

No self-respecting organisation would be managed without top class financial reports. Why are so many managed without top class corporate climate and engagement reports?

To deliver consistently good results, organisations need a positive culture. Actively managing corporate climate and levels of staff engagement is the best way to achieve this.

AHRI, with associated partners, have developed an online survey tool that supports confidential data collection and enables the active management of corporate climate and staff engagement levels to improve business performance.

AHRI defines corporate climate as:

The quality of the relationship between the work environment and staff attitudes and behaviours, engagement and job satisfaction.

Our view is that corporate climate needs to be managed - if not it will evolve and evolution is too random to produce sustained success.

Features of the comprehensive climate & engagement survey:

This tool is based on research that has identified ten key corporate climate variables. Eight of the corporate climate variables impact on job satisfaction which is positively correlated to corporate performance.

This survey is different from standard surveys in four important ways. In addition to the standard analyses:
  1. The survey contains and embedded analysis of levels of staff engagement. Engagement measures the extent to which staff "say" (talk up the organisation - are proud to work for it), "stay" (do not intend leaving because they are absorbed in their work), and "strive" (exert extra effort when they work). This creates committed staff who are extraordinarily productive.
  2. The survey methodology allows us to calculate the correlation between each aspect of climate and job satisfaction. That is, you will know which elements of climate you need to improve to have the greatest impact on job satisfaction and, therefore, staff fulfilment and corporate performance.
  3. The survey gathers information on the importance of each aspect of climate in "improving job satisfaction". That is, staff not only tell you how the current climate is performing, they also tell you which aspects of climate are most important to improving their job satisfaction. This allows you to target improvements to the most important elements of climate.
  4. The survey allows qualitative comments to support the statistical analysis for every aspect of climate. Often this is more revealing than the quantitative "numbers".
